Dear Neighbor,

Great news! The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has awarded the Candlewood Lake Authority $27,553 for outreach and education. This funding comes from the Aquatic Invasive Species grant program, which was established through PA 19-190, a bill that I advocated and supported in 2019. It's humbling to know that bills like this continue to provide valuable resources to the community.

Did you know that the Shoreline Management Plan (SMP), FirstLight's document that dictates how they manage the shoreline around Candlewood, is up for review with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)?

This is the document that regulates how FirstLight protects the shoreline around Candlewood Lake, and manages the permitting and fee process for work homeowners apply to do below the Project Boundary.

Please join the Western Connecticut Council of Governments for a virtual information session for property owners. See the flyer below for more information.
