Video: Update with CT DOT on Rte. 113 Sinkhole
June 30, 2025
On Friday, I met Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT DOT) Deputy Commissioner Laoise King at the location of the Route 113 sinkhole in the Lordship section of Stratford.
A contractor (Aborio Corporation) is ready to start the work, but due to the proximity of the sinkhole to Sikorsky Airport, we need the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to sign off before work can start.
The sinkhole is located between Access Road and Oak Bluff Avenue, and that section of roadway will remain closed until further notice. Access to Sikorsky Airport will not be impacted.
Watch the video with Deputy Commissioner King and me as we discuss next steps. I will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
