Dear Neighbor,

When I found out seniors and people with disabilities were going to lose transportation services in our area due to a federally funded grant ending - I took action and introduced HB 5479, which I got 16 of my colleagues to co-sponsor. This work ultimately led to $2.4 million being allocated in the budget to ensure Encompass would be saved. Encompass provides discounted on-demand accessible transportation for seniors and residents with disabilities. Since 2020, this program has provided transportation for thousands of our residents, becoming a vital service that ensures those residents receive reliable transportation. Without action from the state legislature during the 2025 session, seniors and residents with disabilities would have been left without this essential transportation service.

Encompass is set to receive $1.2 M each year for FY 2026 and FY 2027 in state funds. The funding for Encompass will allow seniors and residents with disabilities to continue receiving transportation services through the program. I am thrilled that this program will continue to provide a necessary service to seniors and disabled residents across Manchester and the surrounding area.
