Updates from State Rep. Farley Santos for Aug. 1, 2025

August 1, 2025

Great news for the city of Danbury, which is set to receive $1.5 million from the state Bond Commission today for capital costs related to the Franklin Street project.

The city continues to receive its fair share of funding for improved infrastructure, which means improved safety and quality-of-life for all residents.

Thank You, Lt. Joe Britton

Really proud of Councilman and First Lt. Joe Britton’s continued service to our community and now our nation!

Honoring Firefighter Moreau

Firefighter Moreau dedicated himself to protecting our community, showing courage and selflessness every day. His passing is a profound loss for Plainville, for Connecticut, and for all who knew and served alongside him.

Governor Lamont has ordered flags in Connecticut to be lowered to half-staff in his memory.

My thoughts are with Ray’s family, loved ones, and the entire Plainville Fire Department during this incredibly difficult time. May we never forget his bravery and service.

Celebrating Medicaid

On July 30, we celebrated 60 years of Medicaid.

This program has transformed American healthcare over the past six decades. Medicaid is a lifeline for millions of children and families across the country, and for almost one-third of Connecticut residents. This program provides access to essential health services to our most vulnerable communities. Let's celebrate this milestone and do what we can to support Medicaid services.

To honor 60 years of Medicaid, Connecticut Children's Medical Center created a list of 60 ways Medicaid continues to promote health, dignity, and opportunity for everyone. Click here to read more
