I was honored to join our community in celebrating a Puerto Rico flag raising, parade, and festival in Waterbury. It was such a pleasure to see Boricua culture and heritage on full display, with families, friends, and neighbors coming together to celebrate Puerto Rican traditions, music, food, and history. The crowd's energy and pride reminded me of how special and resilient our community truly is.
The return of the parade to Waterbury was especially meaningful. Watching the streets come alive with flags waving high, colorful performances, and the sound of music and laughter was a powerful reminder of the importance of keeping Puerto Rican traditions alive for future generations. It was a day to recognize not only our heritage but also the strength of the Boricua community here in Waterbury and across Connecticut. |

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this possible—from organizers and volunteers to the families who showed up to celebrate. Your hard work and dedication brought the parade and festival back to Waterbury, and in doing so, gave our community a reason to come together in pride and unity. I look forward to seeing this tradition continue to grow in the years ahead. |
