Emergency fund to combat Trump chaos
At a bipartisan announcement we agreed to move $500 million in volatility funds to the budget reserve fund as an emergency fund to deal with federal chaos.
Spending from the fund must fit one of the following categories:
WIC
SNAP
LIHEAP
Health care
School meals
Childcare
Housing
The fund is only in existence until we convene the 2026 legislative session on Feb 4. Any remaining dollars will go back to the the budget reserve fund until the end of the fiscal year.
