Our legislative session starts February 5th, 2026, and the work we do here in Connecticut has never felt more important. In these uncertain times, it is even more crucial that we stay in touch and communicate how the federal government chaos, climate change, and global unrest are impacting our community and our households. Creating Affordability

Connecticut continues to struggle with affordability and some of the highest living costs in the country. But with risky policies like trade tariffs, tax cuts for the ultrawealthy, and repealing the Affordable Care Act tax credits and subsidies in D.C., our economic pressures at home are getting even worse.

Survivor’s Justice Act: trauma informed sentencing for survivors of gender-based violence, sexual assault, trafficking, stalking survivors
Universal school meals and child tax credit
Fairer income tax and wealth tax reform to protect revenue for maintaining essential services
Medicaid and nonprofit reimbursement rate increases for providers, hospitals, long-term care facilities
