$5.5 Million for Stratford for Flood Mitigation at Ferry & Broad
December 18, 2025Today, the State Bond Commission took the final steps to approve $5.5 million to fund the flood mitigation project at Ferry Boulevard and Broad Street in Stratford.
The funding was first approved back in late September by the Community Investment Fund (CIF).
I’m very pleased to see this funding given final approval by the State Bond Commission. Thank you to Governor Lamont and the State Bond Commission for seeing the importance of this project. When completed, it will reduce flooding on Ferry Boulevard and permit the stormwater pumping station on Ferry Creek.
The project includes raising the elevation of Ferry Boulevard (State Route 130) at the Broad Street intersection, elevating Broad Street, and replacing Bridge Number 138-005, Broad Street over Ferry Creek.
The project is set to start by January 2026, with completion expected by October 2027.
