Dear Neighbor,

It was great to stop down and congratulate Frank and Nick LaRosa on the opening of their restaurant, Noto Americano, in Plantsville. Earlier this month, they contacted me, and I was able to help them secure the state permits that enabled them to open on schedule this week. Noto looks great inside, and the menu looks even better. Let’s all support the LaRosa cousins and stop down over the holiday season. Mangia Bene!

CT Teacher of the Year

This week I attended the annual Connecticut Teacher of the Year Ceremony at The Bushnell Center of the Performing Arts in Hartford. It was a perfect night to celebrate Connecticut’s top teachers, from school districts from across our state, for their hard work and dedication to students. Special shout outs to Southington’s Megan Evans and the 2024 Teacher of the Year Kiana Foster-Mauro, both of whom I was able to congratulate backstage before they received their awards.

Teachers are awesome!

Veterans Day

Last Saturday, I was honored to speak during the American Legion Kiltonic Post 72’s Veterans Day ceremony on the Southington Town Green. I was proud to share my family’s story of service and join Southington Veterans Committee Chair, Rachel Wache, in thanking the Veterans who were in attendance for their service and example, especially my Dad, Chris Poulos Sr., who spent 27 years in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Supporting a Strong Business Climate

Thanks to our strong, fiscally responsible policies at the state level:

  • Our bond ratings are stellar.
  • Job growth numbers keep improving.
  • We have cut billions in unfunded pension debts from our balance sheets.
  • We paid back the pandemic-era Unemployment Trust Fund loan, which is great news for local businesses.

This proactive repayment of the Unemployment Trust loan sends a strong message that Connecticut is open for business.

The Governor's Office has details on the unemployment repayment below:

Unemployment Loan Repayment Announcement

I am committed to promoting fiscal responsibility and stability to strengthen our economy, while maintaining our excellent credit rating and paying down debt.
