CT Veterans Hall of Fame Induction
Congratulations to Waterbury’s own Cicero Booker, Jr. for his induction into Connecticut’s Veterans Hall of Fame. The entire community is grateful for Cicero’s incredible lifetime of service to his country and our city. Cicero was a police officer, public servant, civil rights advocate, and educator in Waterbury.

Cicero Booker, Jr. served in the U.S. Marine Crops from 1955 to 1958 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. Four years later, Cicero joined the Waterbury Police Department and over a remarkable 33-year career, he rose the ranks to become a Lieutenant.

Currently, Mr. Booker continues to serve his community by working part-time with the Waterbury Adult Education ESL Program, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to education and support for those in need. His life and career stand as a testament to his dedication to service, his community, and the well-being of veterans.

Conversation on Improving the South End
I had the pleasure of joining the community for an important discussion about the future of the South End of Waterbury. The strong turnout illustrates the deep commitment and passion our residents have for strengthening our neighborhoods. It’s clear there is a shared passion to work collaboratively, find solutions, and create lasting, positive change.

I am grateful to everyone who is involved in the South End Neighborhood Association and to all those who continue to advocate for a stronger, safer, and more vibrant community. Your dedication and engagement are what drives progress. We can build a better future for the South End.
