Please find the update below from the Department of Economic Community Development Commissioner, David Lehman, regarding government transparency.

The long hurricane season began June 1st and is expected to be an active one. Connecticut has largely been spared from major hurricanes in recent years – for that we are thankful – but residents should always be prepared.

This is a small step in closing the generational education and wealth gaps that have blocked so many from accessing equity and the American Dream.

Over 100 new laws in Connecticut go into effect TODAY. These laws mark the tireless work put in by my colleagues and I over the past few months. We all worked hard to listen to your concerns in order to advocate for you in Hartford.

Over the next few days Connecticut is expected to experience extreme temperatures that have prompted heat advisories from the National Weather Service through Wednesday.

While the 2021 legislative session faced unprecedented challenges and obstacles, I brought the concerns of our community to Hartford and advocated for legislation that will directly benefit Waterbury.

As we approach the end of our 2021 Regular Legislative Session, I couldn’t be more proud of the work we have been able to accomplish as we all learned new and unprecedented ways to stay connected with each of you.

As Chair of the General Assembly’s Black and Puerto Rican Caucus, I am proud of Vice Chair Bobby Gibson and other members of the caucus for developing the Community Investment Fund 2030, a 10 year/ $2.5 billion-plus investment in historically underserved and marginalized communities.
