Join me for Hispanic Heritage Month as I highlight, participate, and celebrate the rich culture and contributions of our growing Hispanic and Latino American populations in Waterbury and the rest of the state.

It was all smiles and waves as residents from 115 countries participated in a huge parade at the 2023 Gathering event! After a three year hiatus, The Gathering was back stronger and more organized than ever!

Members of the Latino community from all over the state came together at the Capitol to celebrate Central American culture and freedom.

We successfully passed several measures, which will enhance and support our skilled workforce and make our state more attractive for companies and new businesses.

The application period for the 2023-2024 winter season of the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) is open. CEAP provides vulnerable state homeowners and renters with crucial support with heating their homes.

Now that schools are open, I want to take a moment to remind drivers that they need to make some important adjustments including slowing down in school zones and for school buses.

Students across Waterbury Public Schools returned to the classroom on Monday for the start of a truly exciting year. Commissioner for the Connecticut State Department of Education, Charlene Russell-Tucker, Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz, and I were thrilled to welcome children at Chase Elementary School.

Our trains on the New Haven Line are getting some major upgrades because the Connecticut Department of Transportation is buying 60 new, fully customized rail cars.
