Coronavirus Update

Governor Ned Lamont has taken the technical step of declaring a public health emergency and a civil preparedness emergency in response to coronavirus (COVID-19). This is a proactive step. The declarations will allow the Governor and state agencies to more quickly expand the state's sample collection and testing capabilities for the virus. The declarations also trigger price gouging laws and make clear that municipal leaders have emergency powers to mitigate disasters and emergencies.
