Dear Neighbor,

Earlier this week, I joined hip hop icon Dame Dash at Nathan Hale Middle School in Norwalk. Dame talked to the students about what it means to start and run a business, and I discussed the importance of democracy and the legislative process. It was an incredible opportunity, and I hope it had a positive impact on the students who attended.

I am proud to announce that the CT NAACP has selected me as one of the 100 most influential blacks in the state of Connecticut. It is an honor to be recognized and I will continue to fight for our community in the legislature.

Great news! Norwalk was one of the 46 school districts in Connecticut that will receive state funding to build and expand high dosage tutoring for our students. Norwalk Public Schools has been allocated $278,200 for their program.

High-Dosage Tutoring (HDT) is a well-researched strategy to address learning loss, ensuring students have intensive, curriculum-aligned support to close academic gaps.

In total, the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) is releasing $11.5 million to 46 school districts for this program. I am thrilled that our students will be provided the help they need to succeed in their education.

If you have questions, or ever need any help please don't hesitate to call me at (800) 842-8267 or email me directly.

Sincerely,

Kadeem Roberts
