Supporting A Competitive Process For Casino Gaming

February 27, 2019

I am proud to have joined with the Bridgeport Delegation in support of a competitive process for any expansion of casino gaming in Connecticut. As you may be able to see and hear from our testimony, many times it’s an uphill struggle to work to represent our great city and to put it on the legislature’s map. I, and I am sure our whole delegation, will continue our commitment on behalf of all our Bridgeport constituents in Hartford.

This is the proper approach to any new casino project - a competitive, fair, open and transparent process is in the best interest of the state and our taxpayers. In this process the state and public would be able to evaluate competing proposals that would include plans for hiring during all phases of construction and the jobs and economic impact and benefit to the host town after completion.
