The project involves revising the pedestrian amenities at existing traffic control signals. The work will include pedestals, pedestrian countdown signal heads, accessible pedestrian push buttons, signing and pavement markings, sidewalks and sidewalk ramps.

In Bridgeport, the project will cover the following intersections:

• US Route 1 at Wells Street
• Route 1 at SR 722 and Glenwood Avenue
• SR 722 at Route 8 & 25 Southbound Ramps and Reservoir Avenue
• Route 1 at Norman Street
• Route 1 at William Street
• Route 127 at Ogden Street

The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in December 2027, with construction anticipated to start in the summer of 2028, assuming acceptance of the project, availability of funding and receipt of any required right-of-way and environmental permits. This project will be undertaken with 90% federal and 10% state funds.
