Funding for Danbury Public Schools

October 25, 2023

Governor Ned Lamont and Education Commissioner Charlene M. Russell-Tucker recently announced that the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) is releasing $11.5 million to 46 school districts across our state to build and expand high-dosage tutoring through the Connecticut High-Dosage Tutoring Program

I'm pleased to share that Danbury Public Schools will receive $435,000 from the funds released to build and expand high-dosage tutoring (HDT). HDT is a well-researched strategy to address learning loss, ensuring students have intensive, curriculum-aligned support to close academic gaps.

High-Dosage Tutoring

I'd like to thank both Governor Ned Lamont and Education Commissioner Charlene M. Russell-Tucker for allocating this funding to Danbury. The High-Dosage Tutoring Program empowers students and helps address the educational disparities that the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated.

The funding allocated to Danbury Public Schools represents a bright future for our children and reinforces our shared commitment to their success. I'm honored to serve as your state representative and will continue working tirelessly on behalf of our students.
