About Musicals at Richter
Founded in 1985, Musicals at Richter proudly holds the title of Connecticut’s longest-running outdoor theater. Located in the scenic hills of Western Connecticut at the Richter Arts Center, near the Richter Park Golf Course in Danbury, this beloved institution has been a cornerstone of our community for nearly four decades.
Over the years, Musicals at Richter has staged over 100 musicals, providing a professional springboard for hundreds of up-and-coming performers. Their mission is to offer affordable, quality family entertainment and opportunities for community members of all ages and diverse backgrounds to participate in and enjoy professional-quality theatrical productions.
Recent Renovations
The Richter House has recently undergone an incredible remodeling process, enhancing the experience for performers and audiences. This transformation marks a new chapter for Musicals at Richter as they continue to enrich our community with top-notch theatrical productions through this preservation and improvement project.
Upcoming Performance: Disney's Beauty and the Beast
This season, Musicals at Richter invites you to step into the enchanted world of Broadway’s classic, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Directed by Donald Birely, with musical direction by Benjamin Doyle and choreography by Matthew Farina, this production promises to captivate audiences of all ages.
