The Next Steps in Funding for Danbury High School

February 5, 2024

Great news is on the horizon for the students and faculty of Danbury High School! The School Construction Project Priority List Review Committee has just given the green light for a significant investment in the school's future. An impressive sum of $10,429,650 has been allocated to breathe new life into the science departments on the 4th and 5th floors of the C building. This funding will transform a whopping 28,400 square feet, turning outdated science labs into state-of-the-art learning environments.

While the total cost of this ambitious project is estimated at $16.5 million, the approved funding is set to cover nearly two-thirds of that amount, precisely 63.21%.

This funding is a game-changer and is now awaiting approval from both the Connecticut House of Representatives and the Senate. Once passed by both chambers, it's just a matter of the Governor's signature to turn this dream into a reality.

I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to State Senator Kushner, State Representative Godfrey, and State Representative Allie-Brennan for their support, which has brought us to this pivotal moment. Our collective dedication to securing the necessary funding will enable us to ensure that Danbury High School has the means to make these vital updates to its science labs.
