Updates from State Rep. Farley Santos for Aug. 8, 2025

August 8, 2025

The progress that Danbury has made can be measured in a number of ways. From a view of 30,000 feet, for example, the city is receiving record funding from the state to the tune of millions of dollars, which is being invested in our infrastructure and schools.

But the individual stories of our residents and business owners also reflect the important victories Danbury has been achieving.

Larry Kosilla and the owners of Blend and Brew are prime examples.

Larry is a local entrepreneur and car detailing legend who just hit the national stage with his new show, "Extreme Detailing," now airing on the Discovery Channel!

Larry’s journey from AMMO NYC to TV is inspiring, his passion and hustle are unmatched. Wishing him nothing but continued success as the world gets to see what you’re doing right here in Danbury!

Meanwhile, there's a new business in the city, Blend and Brew on the corner of Main and Crosby. I popped into it last week and, wow, what a gem!

A big thanks to Mayor Alves for the round of espressos and wellness shots. (Both were top-notch!). If you haven’t been yet, make sure to swing by. Great vibes, great coffee, and even better company.

Danbury has tremendous momentum and we're only getting started.

National Night Out

Huge congratulations to the Danbury Police Department on a successful National Night Out at Rogers Park! The event brought together community members, generous vendors, local business donors, and of course — the one and only Danbury Copsicle!

The highlight? A thrilling landing by the Eagle 2 helicopter! This great night was a true testament to the power of community and the dedication to building stronger, safer neighborhoods.

Kudos to Mayor Alves, Chief Ridenhour, and all of Danbury’s finest for championing community policing and bringing our city together in such a meaningful way.

Walking the District

As my friend Larry Riefberg always says: Walk the District, Meet the People, Discuss the Issues! That’s exactly what we did last weekend.

Had a great afternoon at the Italian Festival, delicious food, great conversations, and an even greater community. I was honored to be asked to pull the winning ticket for the 50/50 raffle and in true Danbury spirit, the winner generously donated the prize back to the club. I missed the fireworks night due to travel, but I heard it was absolutely packed!

Huge shoutout to all the volunteers and sponsors who worked tirelessly to make this event a success. These are the moments that bring people together and make our city feel like home.
