Milford is taking part in the launch of a $19.5 million state funded pilot program designed to modernize transportation and improve the quality of life for everyone. The Microtransit program is an accessible, on-demand mode of transportation that uses a smartphone app or phone number to request and schedule a ride within designated service areas. This means a shuttle will pick you up in a central location along with others in the area and drop you off at or near the final destination. The program is intended to be affordable, reach underserved areas, and aims to close gaps in the state’s public transportation grid.

The pilot program will serve our entire community and will begin within the next six months. The Microtransit service will last for two years with the possibility of two one-year extensions based on performance and ridership.
