State Legislature to Convene February 4

January 28, 2026

The Speaker of the House will gavel in the House of Representatives at 10:00 a.m. This year's legislative session runs for three months, with a state constitutional adjournment date of May 6.

House Democrats are gearing up for a busy session and will be working hard to pass legislation to help improve the lives of Connecticut residents in a number of areas such as affordability, education, healthcare and the environment.

There are a variety of ways to follow all the legislative proceedings including by checking out the official Connecticut General Assembly website. Here you will find a list of legislators, a calendar of daily events such as committee meetings and public hearings, and so much more helpful information.

In addition, all House and Senate sessions, as well as various meetings and press conferences and other events, are viewable both live and on demand via the Connecticut Network (CTN).

We encourage everyone to tune in and get involved by making your voice heard. You can do this by directly contacting your legislator or testifying at a public hearing on the many bills that will be considered by legislative committees over the next few months.

Let's get to work for everyone in Connecticut!
