Enhancing Mental Health Services for Children & Families

The mental health and well-being of our state's youth and families has been a leading priority of mine. While we saw a rise in depression, anxiety, self-harm, and other forms of distress in young people prior to the pandemic, the increased isolation and uncertainty that has come from the past two years has exacerbated this issue. My colleagues and I have worked collaboratively on a bipartisan bill to provide additional support, resources and structural change to the children's mental health system in Connecticut.

The 2022 legislative session is right around the corner, and while the Connecticut General Assembly will not gavel in until February 9, the legislative process starts now. I will be holding a legislative coffee hour on January 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. via Zoom to listen to your thoughts and concerns on state issues as well as your ideas for potential legislation.

Access Health CT Enrollment Deadline Extended for Coverage Starting Jan. 1

December 17, 2021

Connecticut residents have more time to enroll in a health insurance plan through Access Health CT for coverage starting with the new year! Residents who enroll between December 16 and December 31 can choose between coverage starting on January 1, 2022 or February 1, 2022. Those who enroll between January 1, 2022 and January 15, 2022 will have coverage starting on February 1, 2022.

Access Health CT Waives Requirement for Group Health Insurance Plans

From now until December 15, small businesses in Connecticut can obtain group health insurance regardless of the number of employees who enroll thanks to Access Health CT's Employee Participation Waiver Period. Any local small business with 50 employees or less that is not currently enrolled through Access Health CT Small Business can participate.
