I am pleased to report that the Biden Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) have approved a significant and permanent increase in the amount of food stamp assistance available to families in need.

The Town of Groton and New London announced that they will issue a public mask mandate. Starting Monday, August 23, all individuals, vaccinated and unvaccinated, will be required to wear a mask indoors.

On Tuesday, August 17, I am co-hosting an in person Town Hall event. I will be joined by state Senator Cathy Osten. The meeting will take place in the Bill Library at 6:00 pm.

This week, more than $16 million in Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief II (ESSER II) funds was made available to 170 school districts across Connecticut.

Access Health CT (AHCT) has extended the deadline for its Special Enrollment Period (SEP) to October 31, making it easier and more convenient than ever for Connecticut residents to obtain a good, quality, affordable health insurance plan.

Earlier today, Governor Lamont held a bill signing ceremony in Groton for Public Act 21-152. This bill, which I cosigned, eliminates the hurdles that the spouses and partners of military members often face when looking for employment.

The CDC classified New London County as an area with substantial or high community transmission of the COVID-19 virus, and recommends that all individuals, including those who are fully vaccinated, should wear masks indoors.
