The Connecticut House of Representatives was in session on Tuesday. My colleagues and I debated, discussed and passed several pieces of legislation throughout the night. I wanted highlight a couple that will benefit the community.

In an effort to make the vaccine more accessible to Connecticut residents, more than 50 providers will no longer require an appointment. Residents will be able to visit a location and receive a vaccine on the spot.

The City of Groton has received a grant from the state of Connecticut, via the Connecticut Port Authority. The city will receive $75,000 to improve access to the Municipal Dock Study.

Over the past year, many families across our state and country have suffered the pain of losing a loved one due to COVID-19. In addition to dealing with their tragic loss, families were suddenly saddled with the high cost of funeral expenses.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have recommended a pause on the use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.

The Renters' Rebate program opens tomorrow, April 1, and runs through October 1st. This program provides rental reimbursement to elderly and disabled residents in need.
