Community Conversation on Responding to Hate Crimes on May 22

May 15, 2025

As hate crimes rise across the country, you have an important opportunity to learn how local communities -- and the state as a whole -- are responding to this troubling trend.

You’re invited to a free, engaging public forum where government officials, law enforcement, and legal experts will discuss how hate crimes are identified, reported, and investigated. Most importantly, they will share how you – the public – can play a vital role in stopping hate and building safer, more inclusive communities.

Date: Thursday, May 22
Time: 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Location: Darien Library, 1441 Post Road, Darien

Featured Speakers Include:
  • Commissioner Ronnell Higgins, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection
  • Darien Police Chief Jeremiah P. Marron Jr.
  • Connecticut State Police Hate Crimes Investigative Unit
  • Member of Chief State’s Attorney’s Office
