Latino legislators to hold fundraiser for hurricane victims

September 14, 2017

Hurricane Irma did significant damage to Puerto Rico’s infrastructure. High winds, heavy rain and the storm surge damaged the electrical grid, produced flooding, damaged or destroyed homes and businesses, and caused other disruptions. It will take weeks and months, or longer, for recovery.

Volunteers are needed to help with this event. Please call Milagros Acosta at 860-240-8773 or send her an email at milagros.acosta@cga.ct.gov if you can spare some time to assist us.

EVENT: Latino Legislators for Hurricane Irma Relief
DATE: Saturday, September 16
TIME: 10:30 am – 6 pm
LOCATION: Grove Avenue & Ferry Street, New Haven

Damage to the island could have been far worse, but significant relief is needed to help Puerto Rico with its long-term recovery effort.

I hope you can help with a donation. Any amount, large or small, will go a long way to help Puerto Rico recover.
