Watch D'Agostino lead the debate on the contract amendment for homecare workers

March 23, 2018

On March 21, state Rep. Mike D'Agostino led House passage of a contract amendment that will raise wages, provide workers' compensation and increase funding for training and orientation programs for 8,500 personal care attendants. The contract was also adopted by the state Senate.

Personal care attendants are dedicated workers that care for Connecticut’s disabled and elderly by helping them with bathing, dressing, grocery shopping and providing transportation.

The legislature’s passage of the contract amendment will help give workers the financial security they need to provide for their families without living paycheck to paycheck.
