Connecticut Named Second Best State to Live

A recent report ranks Connecticut as the second best state to live in the U.S. The report from 24/7 Wall St. judged states based on social and economic conditions including poverty, education and health, which are all areas where Connecticut excels. A low crime rate and high median income also helped put Connecticut at the top of the list.

Here are some of the report statistics about Connecticut that we can be proud of:

  • Median household income: $71,346 a year (5th highest of all states)
  • Poverty rate: 10.5% (6th lowest)
  • Life expectancy at birth: 80.4 years (2nd highest)
