The Connecticut Department of Transportation has recently announced that it will be Replacing Bridge Deck Joints in multiple locations on Routes 9 and 72, which will affect the Bristol area. These replacements will ensure for the safety of bridges along these two routes by avoiding accelerated deterioration from leakages onto other bridge components.
The construction will begin on April 1, and will affect the routes with the following lane closures:
- Route 9 and Route 72 (Limited-Access Highway Ramps)
- Monday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- Route 72 (Non-Limited Access)
- Monday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- Saturday and Sunday between 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m.
There will be no detours as of this time. Please be safe and mindful when these replacements start.
