Dear Neighbor,

I had a busy week at the capitol in committee meetings and working with my colleagues on proposed bills and concepts. We've worked on many critical ideas that will move to public hearings, where your input and contributions are essential. I'm excited to continue our work in committees and with my colleagues to pass key legislation this session.

The House will be back in session on Tuesday January 28th at 1pm! You can watch live on CT-N which can be found on YouTube or Roku. CT-N provides other livestreams and recordings for press conferences and committee meetings happening around the capitol. Visit their site below:

Join Britsol's free 6th annual Community Conversation where we aim to bring dialogue, awareness, and acceptance for those suffering from depression through laughter and vulnerability. We laugh at the dark stuff, because laughter releases the pain. We talk about depression, because no one should feel shame. The event is hosted by Brad Bonar, with comedians Rodney Norman, Sydney Stigerts and Stacey Kendro.

With an army of comedians, we hope to kill the stigma of depression and share stories of hope, happiness and triumph.  The show will be followed by a discussion panel with the opportunity for anyone seeking mental health support to visit six different informative booths: Wheeler Health (our premier sponsor) NAMI, Bristol Eliminating Substance Use Together, Root Center for Advanced Recovery, Bristol-Burlington Health District, Hartford County Tattoo, and AA & NA pamphlets. Free coffee will be available, sponsored by Aroma Joe’s Coffee.
