Passing 5001 Out of Committee

HB 5001 Has Been Voted Out of Committee

Last week, I informed you of my support for HB 5001, a bill concerned with protecting our seniors, by attending a press conference with Speaker Matt Ritter, Aging Committee Chair Jane Garibay, and bipartisan supporters from the Republican party.

This week, the bill has been voted out of the Joint Committee on Aging, meaning that it has gotten through the first stage of the legislative process and is one step closer to hopefully being passed into law.

The bill will allow more seniors to age in place, further protections in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, and improve training for caregivers. It's important that we see it through to the end.
