Celebrating Danbury Day

April 13, 2018

Recently the Danbury delegation hosted Danbury Day at the Capitol, an event where we highlight all the great things about our city and honor community members who have worked to make it even better.

This year we recognized two Danbury couples: Bob Taborsak and Lynn Taborsak, and Bob Yamin and Judge Dianne Yamin. I was honored to present legislative citations to Bob and Lynn Taborsak, who are longtime friends of mine. Both of the Taborsaks have served as members of the Danbury City Council, and Lynn was a state representative when I was first elected to represent our city. Bob is well-known as a former educator and high school track coach.

Dianne Yamin has served as a Judge of Probate since 1990 and is a past President-Judge of the Connecticut Probate Assembly. Bob Yamin is Corporation Counsel and Chief Legal Officer of the City of Danbury. Both of the Yamins are active in local charitable and civic organizations.

I always look forward to celebrating my hometown with my fellow legislators and our neighbors in Danbury. It was great to see this year’s celebration highlight the unique diversity of our city. Even for life-long residents like myself, there’s always something new to discover about Danbury.
