Funding for Department of Veterans Affairs
I joined veterans groups and fellow lawmakers to call for restoring $2 million in funding to the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs. Members of the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, AMVETS, Disabled American Veterans, Marine Corps League, and other organizations came together in support of this cause.
The Democratic budget restores $2 million in funding that was threatened by a licensing change for the Rocky Hill Veterans Home. I will fight to ensure this funding remains in the final budget.
