Dear Friend,
Thanksgiving takes many shapes. Some of my kids celebrated Friendsgiving before the actual holiday, and many may be relying on community help to provide a meal for their families. We had planned to travel to New Hampshire this year to spend the day with my brother and his family – I am the family baker, so I had pies covered, plus a favorite soup and cranberry sauce, but at the last minute a plumbing emergency in NH meant everyone is coming to my house this year. As usual, it will be a communal affair to prepare the meal, including a lot of traditional items and some new ones, all seasoned with gratitude for our ability to respond to a crisis and take care of one another. |
