The State Local Bridge Program is a cost-matching grant program that provides 50% of project costs for locally-owned bridges. Towns and cities administer all design and construction aspects of their projects, while the CTDOT oversees project milestones and provides guidance for the municipalities.
The grants approved in this round for current projects include two bridges in the Northwest Corner:
Sharon: Replace Bridge #125012, West Cornwall Road over Swamp Brook ($724,500)
Last Saturday the American Legion and the Kent Memorial Library held an event on Kent-based sculptor Sabin Howard’s design The Weight of Sacrifice, chosen for the National World War I Memorial at Pershing Park in Washington, DC. The official unveiling of the sculpture will take place on Friday, September 13 at 7:15 pm at 14th Street and Pennylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.
The Goshen Recreation Summer Concert Series is underway. Bring your family, friends, snacks, chairs, blankets, and come have a good time!!!
Washington’s Music on the Green concert program is underway. There will be a performance every Friday through July 26th (except July 12th) from 6:30pm-8:00pm on the Washington Green.
