Attention high school seniors - if you are interested in pursing higher education, I'd encourage you to look into the Connecticut Automatic Admission Program (CAAP).With just one application, students are automatically eligible to be admitted at the 10 participating colleges and universities. CAAP eliminates common barriers by waiving application fees, essays, and recommendation letters.
Any Connecticut high school seniors who have a 3.0 weighted grade point average (GPA) or a 2.75 unweighted GPA can participate. The application will go to the following universities:
- Southern Connecticut State University
- University of New Haven
- University of Bridgeport
- Central Connecticut State University
- Eastern Connecticut State University
- Western Connecticut State University
- Albertus Magnus College
- Goodwin University
- Mitchell College
- University of Hartford
After students apply through the Common App, eligible applicants will receive acceptance letters notifying them of their admission and encouraging them to enroll in one of the participating schools. The process requires only one application form and has no application fees.
The application period for Connecticut high school seniors planning to start college in the 2026-2027 academic year is currently open and will remain so until May 1, 2026.
All high school students in Connecticut are encouraged to take advantage of this valuable opportunity. Click here for more details and application instructions.

Join me today in pausing to honor the courage and sacrifice of those who were prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action. As a legislator, and a fellow American, I carry deep gratitude for the families who live with uncertainty every day. Your strength reminds us of the cost of freedom and the promise we owe: to never forget. Here in Connecticut, we join the nation in remembering the names, the stories, and the faces behind the uniform. Their absence is felt, their service remembered, and their return always hoped for. To every Connecticut family who bears this burden: always remember that you are seen, you are honored, and we will always keep the light on. |

From the shores of Long Island Sound to our rivers and inlets, Connecticut’s coastlines are treasures worth protecting. Today, we join volunteers around the world to clean up our beaches, protect wildlife, and preserve the beauty of our shoreline for generations to come. Every piece of trash picked up is a step toward a cleaner, healthier ocean. Want to get involved in CT? Check out local cleanups via Save the Sound: savethesound.org. |
