The Women's Business Development Council (WBDC) and Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC) have begun accepting applications for the OEC-WBDC Program Operations Grants. The application period ends on May 25.

With broad bipartisan support, we passed the budget implementer. It significantly boosts support for education, increases investments in housing and transportation, and supports our town and city budgets, while safeguarding the state’s strong fiscal outlook. We’ve funded school breakfast for all students, expanded sales tax-free week to include more items, created a family caregiver tax credit for residents caring for a loved one, and provided additional tax credits for business.

The House unanimously advanced House Bill 5406, The Connecticut Hero Act, and it is now heading to the Senate for consideration. 

The House recently passed legislation to strengthen Connecticut’s tire disposal program, requiring retail stores to fully participate by July 1, 2027.

In honor of Women’s History Month and the town's celebration of America250, I am hosting an essay contest for students in grades 7th-12th.

A new round of state grants will help target food insecurity, which affects an estimated one in ten Connecticut residents.

Starting February 1st, 2026, the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will begin charging a $45 fee for air travelers who arrive at airport security without a Real ID or another acceptable form of identification, such as a valid passport or trusted traveler card.
