Applications for the 2027 Legislative Internship Program at the Connecticut General Assembly are open until November 1! 

The program offers Connecticut undergraduate college students a part-time role in legislative offices, with academic credit, direct access to lawmakers, and exposure to the state's policy-making process. 

Connecticut's state budget ended the 2026 fiscal year with a modest surplus while the overall state economy continues to grow at a strong pace.

Today marks the effective date for a number of bills that passed in the 2026 legislative session.

While higher energy prices are raising concerns about keeping our homes warm this winter, there is help for families who will struggle with their heating bills.

The U-Pass CT program launched in Fall 2017 and provides free public transportation to eligible students enrolled at participating UConn campuses and Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) schools. The cost is included in student fees, so students only need their U-Pass CT and valid student ID when boarding participating services.

This weekend, parts of the state experienced significant rainfall, resulting in flooding and damage to roadways, businesses, and homes.  DESPP’s Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS) is working with local officials to assess next steps.
