As you may have heard, there was a terrible fire in Avon Place last night (apartment complex near the Reggio Magnet School). Thankfully, because of the quick actions of the Avon Volunteer Fire Department, none of the residents were hurt. Unfortunately, at least one firefighter was injured in the line of duty and I wish them a speedy recovery at the same time I am grateful for their heroism.
 
The Red Cross has stepped in and we know that there will be a meeting this evening to go over the next steps. Please keep an eye on my social media channels and hopefully my e-news on Wednesday for more information.
 
In the meantime, please consider donating gift cards to Avon’s Social Services. Those gift cards will be given to the affected families. Thank you very much for considering.
