State Rep. Keitt Welcomes $820,000 in Bond Funds for Trumbull Culvert Project

December 15, 2023

State Rep. Sarah Keitt (D-Fairfield-Trumbull) is pleased to announce that the State Bond Commission has approved a bond request of $820,000 to provide critical infrastructure repairs to culverts along Williams Road in Trumbull.

"I'm thrilled this bond funding came through for Trumbull," said Rep. Keitt. "This culvert project will benefit not only residents in the area but also our first responders. The aging culverts along Williams Road have resulted in flooding at the Trumbull Police Department parking lot, impacting emergency vehicles. Upgrades to the culverts will help address the flooding issues at the police department and on Edison Road. I want to thank Governor Ned Lamont and the State Bond Commission for seeing this need in Trumbull."

"Edison Road is a 1.3 mi long connector between State Routes 111 and 127. Edison Road Culvert is located about 400 feet away from the Trumbull Police Headquarters and has reached the end of its life. It collapsed in November of 2021. Reconstruction is needed to provide for a safe passage of (Island Brook) water, vehicles, and to avoid property damage," said Tatiana Solovey, Trumbull's Assistant Town Engineer.

"This shovel-ready project is for the reconstruction of the Williams Road culvert and phase two of the Edison Road culvert construction," said First Selectman Vicki Tesoro. "This is a critical infrastructure project for the Town of Trumbull that will provide safety in this area for our residents and the Trumbull Police Department, which is located on Edison Road."

Representative Keitt represents the 134th House District, serving Fairfield and Trumbull.
