Hey Neighbors,
Happy Friday!

On Tuesday, State Comptroller Sean Scanlon announced that December 2 will be the application deadline for anyone interested in the Hartford Flood Relief and Compensation Program.

The deadline is being imposed given the applications already received and because the program is funded through American Rescue Plan dollars that must be allocated by the end of the year. The deadline also allows the program administrator to review and process the applications before the end of the year.

The HFCP launched in September 2023 with a $5 million budget. In June 2024, the comptroller and House Speaker Matt Ritter announced the program would be expanded to non-resident property and business owners and added $4 million in funding.

HFCP has approved more than 446 of 650 applications, awarding more than $6 million to Hartford residents and business owners impacted by flooding, with an average claim payout of $13,000.

Hartford residents or property owners wishing to apply can click HERE or visit Blue Hills Civic Association (Colin Bennett Building, 1229 Albany Avenue, Third Floor, Suite 306, Hartford) to obtain an application.

If you have any issues, concerns, or feedback, I would love to hear from you! Please feel free to contact me at 860-240-8585 if you ever need anything or by email at maryam.khan@cga.ct.gov.

Sincerely,
