Dear Neighbor,

Happy Wednesday!

I would like to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving! While we live in a time with forces that often try to distance us from one another, I am so grateful for each and every one of you. Representing our beautiful community at our state's Capitol is an honor that I don't take for granted.

I hope this Thanksgiving, your day is filled with warmth and moments of gratitude surrounded by loved ones.

In this week's eblast, you can read about a Thanksgiving food drive, the upcoming Sticks and Soldiers event, and more. You can click the links below to navigate between sections.

Operation Hope Food Drive
Tomorrow at 10am at Fairfield Ludlowe High School's Taft Field (785 Unquowa Rd), hometown rivals Ludlowe and Warde will face off in Operation Hope's annual Turkey Bowl Food Drive! This great yearly event brings together two of our favorite teams to face off for a good cause. If you can drop by, please bring a non-perishable food item!

Sticks for Soldiers
A final reminder that the 2024 Sticks for Soldiers event is this Saturday, Nov. 30! You can read below for more information:

Young Americans too often come back from foreign wars with life-changing wounds. As we carry on with our lives, they struggle for the rest of theirs.

To help ease that struggle, the Fairfield Ludlowe High School boys & girls lacrosse programs are hosting the 17th Annual Sticks for Soldiers Thanksgiving Lacrosse Classic on Saturday, November 30, 2024.

In 2023, 32 boys and girls teams, including over 500 high school athletes, raised over $60,000. In 17 years, over $1.2 million has been donated locally to wounded servicemen and women and their families.

When it can be easy to forget, this event raises awareness. For high school athletes, the chance to compete and raise money for wounded men and women just a few years older than themselves is impactful and unforgettable.

I hope you will consider attending this wonderful community event. To donate to this incredible cause, please click here.

Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday, which takes place two day after Thanksgiving, shines a spotlight on locally owned businesses. It encourages folks to shop small and support their communities during the busy holiday shopping season.

By participating, you can find unique, personalized gifts while contributing to the local economy by keeping money within their community. Small Business Saturday fosters a sense of connection, strengthening neighborhoods and ensuring that local businesses, which are often the heart of their communities, continue to thrive.
