Dear Neighbor,
Happy Friday!

I want to start off by recognizing November as Native American Heritage Month.

Connecticut’s Native communities have shaped our state’s heritage and continue to lead efforts in cultural preservation, education, and advocacy.

Native American Heritage Month is a time to honor and learn about the cultures, traditions, and histories of Indigenous peoples and celebrate their enduring legacies.

In this week's eblast, you can read about recent decisions made on utility bill refunds, Fairfield's Holiday Pop-Up Market, and more. You can click the links below to navigate between sections.

PURA Rate Decisions
The Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) recently released decisions on gas companies that could put money in your pockets over the next three years. These decisions looked through the operating costs for the Connecticut Natural Gas Corporation and the Southern Connecticut Gas Company and for any over-collection of funds. Overall, PURA found about $120 million in over-collected funds which will be returned to ratepayers over three years. You can take a closer look at the revenue and refunds for each company below:
  • The Connecticut Natural Gas Corporation will return $24 million to ratepayers and has an approved revenue requirement of $423,824,405
  • The Southern Connecticut Gas Company will return $96 million to ratepayers and has an approved revenue requirement of $457,817,762

These issues are complex, but what you need to know is Connecticut is holding these companies accountable and getting you the refunds you deserve. As your state representative, I'm committed to ensuring transparency and fairness in your utility rates, and I will continue to provide you important updates on your utility bills.
