I want to start off by addressing the outcome of the national elections. It has been a long few months, and our nation is headed into uncharted waters. I am as determined as ever to continue advocating for our wonderful community and the causes dearest to us. I remain deeply committed to finding ways to bring us together, creating solutions to the complex challenges before us, and protecting our fundamental rights and freedoms at the State Capitol.
I think we need more connection and more meaningful engagement. I have prioritized communication with our community over the past four years and I think we need it more than ever. However, I want two-way communication. I want to hear from you and learn from you, especially if you may have voted differently than me. I think understanding each other is essential and I hope we can meaningingfully engage in this work, together, here in the 132nd.
As we gear up for the next legislative session, which begins on Jan. 8th, please reach out and share what's on your mind. Tell me what's working, what isn't, and what your top priorities are as I return to Hartford to represent you. It is an immense privilege to serve as your state representative, and I carry each of your voices with me in the work that I do.

Those who live in freedom will always be grateful to those who helped preserve it. This Veterans Day, to all those who have served and their families, thank you for all you have done for our country. 🇺🇸
To honor veterans in our town, there are two gatherings you can attend:
The Town of Fairfield will hold their annual Fairfield Veterans Day Ceremony Monday, Nov. 11 at 11am near the Veterans Wall of Honor on the Town Green (611 Old Post Road). The dress code for those attending is blue and gray. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside the Old Academy. For more information, call Chris DeWitt, Commander of the Lt. Owen Fish American Legion Post 143 at 203-570-5650 or Chrisdewitt103@gmail.com.
The Bigelow Center for Senior Activities (100 Mona Terrace) will have a veterans breakfast Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 9:30-11am. Vincent Santilli, executive director and CEO of Homes for the Brave, will be the keynote speaker. You can register at myactivecenter.com or call the center at 203-256-3166.
And in honor of the service of all our veterans, CTtransit will offer free bus rides to veterans, active-duty military personnel, retirees, and disabled veterans throughout the day. Individuals must present a valid military ID to ride for free.
Teenage students and high schools in Connecticut can win up to $26,000 in prizes by entering a submission into Connecticut’s 16th annual Teen Safe Driving Video Contest hosted by the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and Travelers.
Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death for teens in the United States. In 2022, there were 2,514 people killed in crashes across the country involving teenage drivers between the ages of 15 and 18.
The Teen Safe Drive Video Contest is open to all public, private, and home-schooled high school students in Connecticut between the ages of 14 and 18. Contest entrants are required to create a unique and effective video public service announcement no longer than 45 seconds, highlighting interactions between drivers and other teens while illustrating ways to practice safer driving habits and obey Connecticut’s teen driving laws.
The videos must also address at least one specific Connecticut teen driving law. Click HERE to read the full contest rules and instructions on submitting a video. The deadline for submissions is Feb. 3, 2025. To watch winning videos from previous years, click here.
