CT Port Authority Visits Fairfield

July 12, 2018

The CT Port Authority joined us in Fairfield to talk about Southport Harbor. The state is sending $266,000 to Fairfield to dredge the town boat yard and for the completion of the of the boat launch. Additional state funding of $6,500 has been provided to help update the Southport Harbor Management Plan.

The dredging and harbor management plan are being funded by grants through the Port Authority's Small Harbor Improvement Projects Program (SHIPP). Fairfield is contributing a total of $17,500 for the two projects.

This strong commitment speaks to the incredible work and dedication of volunteers. It is the volunteer work and commitment to community by these folks and many other that made this project possible.
