April 22, 2020
As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, I share these photos, all of them taken here in Fairfield, and this beautiful quote from John Muir. Muir, an advocate for wilderness preservation, is credited with helping push Congress to establish Yosemite National Park. I had the privilege of traveling to Yosemite last summer. The ability to bask in the splendor of the mountains and appreciate the grandeur of the sequoias is something I will treasure for the rest of my life. Whether it is majestic scenes such as those I witnessed in Yosemite or my walks here in the neighborhood, I am keenly aware of our connection to the Earth and to one another. Our current situation is underscoring this lesson.

Throughout this week, I am hoping you will take the opportunity to connect with me in one of a few forums.
