Barge Mooring Proposal Near Greenwich Point

October 10, 2019

I spoke at a recent meeting of the Stamford Harbor Management Commission on a proposal to establish a commercial “nurse” mooring for barges near Greenwich Point.

This is no place for a permanent industrial mooring for barges that pose a real threat to people and property and a negative impact on maritime navigation and the environment.

Although I am in support of infrastructure development, there are numerous alternative locations for this company. You can count on my continued opposition to this flawed proposal.

I have been in touch with the Governor's office, state regulatory bodies and our congressional representatives and will follow developments on this issue closely.

Please come to the next meeting of the Commission and speak out on this important issue - read more HERE.

The next opportunity for public comments will be at the Harbor Management Commission’s meeting at 6:30 p.m. next Tuesday, October 15, at 888 Washington Boulevard, Stamford, CT 06902.
