Stephen Meskers

It was great to join with colleagues at the first meeting of the Coastal Caucus – protecting the shoreline is paramount for environmental protection and appropriate commercial development. We will be looking into a number of issues that address how these two areas interrelate. I am particularly concerned in how our harbor management plan interfaces with the Long Island Sound Blue Management Plan and how we manage our precious waterfront resources. We will take into consideration ideas from related organizations and plans. That includes, among others, Save the Sound, CT River Conservancy and the Connecticut Institute for Resilience & Climate Adaptation that focuses on increasing the resilience and sustainability of communities along Connecticut's coast and inland waterways.
