Planning and Zoning Meeting In Port Chester

March 2, 2020

At a recent Planning and Zoning meeting in Port Chester, I outlined concerns about traffic and visual impacts of proposed exceedingly large development on the Tarry Lodge I offered to help by asking the Connecticut State Department of Transportation to review traffic and safety issues with the New York Department of Transportation as the impacts will be felt on both Route 1 and I-95.

The thoughtful comments by the Byram community were impressive. Going from 2 stories to 7-9 stories in such a congested area not good town planning. The shopkeepers are rightfully concerned as well. Business owners of Redi Cut Carpet and a hair salon spoke against the project. The Public Hearing remains open for comments. We need to remain vigilant. I extend my thanks to Al Shehadi who did excellent research on the project and presented some compelling arguments against the development.
